Showdown Week runs all week. Each school gets its own Showdown Hoedown at Loro, the freshman and JV teams play Wednesday at Nelson Field, and varsity closes it out Thursday night at House Park.
Loro is bringing the energy to House Park, with something for the students, something for the stands and plenty of free stuff.

James Beard Award winners Chef Tyson Cole and Pitmaster Aaron Franklin opened the original Loro on South Lamar in 2018, combining Texas barbecue with Asian flavors. You'll find smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces and sides, craft beer, boozy slushees and batch cocktails, in a casual, communal space modeled on Texas dance halls.

Tyson Cole · Loro FounderThis is more than a crosstown matchup. Anderson and McCallum are official Austin ISD district rivals, so the game counts in the standings, and fans have been coming back for decades.
The Shoal Creek Showdown is the annual game between the Anderson Trojans and the McCallum Knights at House Park. The rivalry goes back more than four decades and draws thousands of fans from across North Austin every fall. The game is organized by the Anderson and McCallum Booster Clubs.
